This week’s episode covers the rise and fall of superhero movies. These blockbusters were few and far between in the ‘80s and ‘90s. We cover the technology changes that made them feasible as well as the buy in by good directors and actors to make them ‘events’. We did not cover Blade because while a Marvel character, he really is part of the vampire genre of films with all of the conventional vampire story features that genre has. Like many American cultural trends, too much of a good thing turned the nation off to them.
